I've officially moved to LA and, after a month, can successfully locate every mall in my general area without the use of Google Maps. Quite an accomplishment if you ask me (:
School started wednesday, so far so good! Not sure how busy I'll actually be, seeing as how the first week has basically been a bunch of syllabus reading and awkward introductions. Homework load is typical, a speech a week, an essay a week, and a project or two a week. I feel like I could take another class but I guess I'll wait and see what exactly my brain can handle!
I've managed to run completely out of money. Shit is expensive, that's all I have to say...
2 or 3 dollars per parking garage at every mall, grocery store, or salon. Plus sales tax on every coffee, meal, and manicure. Oh and 100 bones a month for cable and internet! Shiza. Wanted to get a job to have my own spending money but most places aren't too fond of me leaving twice in November and again for the last two weeks of December. But once the holidays are over, I've gotta do something! I only go to class 3 days a week and, call me crazy, but it's not enough! I'm bored!
Can't wait for these classes to get more intense so I have some projects to keep me occupied.
Remind me in 3 months that I said that...because I probably won't feel the same once I'm in the thick of finals week.
3 cups of coffee in for the day. Off to write a speech.
Toodles!
for shopping's sake

Addicted.
To shopping.
What else...?
Trying to round out my wardrobe before the big move, or at least that's how I'm justifying recent purchases. Anyways. While I'm still in the tax-free zone and still employed by Nordies I figured I might as well take advantage of the Anniversary sale and my discount to get some boots. The Report Belzer boot was pretty much the only decent one I found.
So I bought it.
But now I'm not so sure that impulse buy was a smart one. The boots aren't as cute on as I originally thought so I went back the other day and ordered the Vince Camuto Bilco. In love. But I have to wait and see if it will fit my ridiculously high instep.
Also bought an amazing cape/poncho/pea coat thing. In black. And camel. Some over the knees, trouser shorts, and a few shirts. Need some new sunglasses still. And a pair of jeans long enough to strut around in some wedges while I'm in the land of LA. Finally took the initiative to try and find some of those "supermodel length" Hudson's. So come payday I'll be stuffed into an amazing new pair of jeans and my little wardrobe will be complete. Save a few things like yoga pants and some new Nikes...but those can wait.
So, yeah, I'm sort of addicted to spending money. But I have to get it out of my system while I can. Come September I'll have no extra money, no job, and no time to shop.
The world may as well end September 1st.
(:
LA should be fun though, can't wait to see my apartment. And get to decorating!

California, here we come.
Took a trip to San Fran and, well, long story short, hated it. The campus wasn't anything special and all the apartments we went to see were in the Tenderloin...AKA...the ghetto. I knew they would be expensive but I didn't expect them to be so small and so dirty and so in the middle of the worst neighborhood in SF. On the third day we decided to wake up at 4am and hop on a flight to LA for some more apartment hunting and a second look at the main campus. Much better. Could've told you that 4 years ago when I first visited! It's beautiful and the campus is huge. The weather is awesome. Beautiful people everywhere. Much more appealing, that's for sure.
So anywho, we decided the second we got off the plane in LAX that it was the place to be. Not to mention, while we were in the SF FIDM housing office, my penny tattoo was bright red and itching like crazy! I think papa was trying to tell me something...
Saw a few great apartments in the DT area and fell in love with the second, in the Gas Company Lofts. Concrete floors, big windows, completely remodeled kitchen and bathroom, open floor plan, and right around the corner from school...and the Nokia theater!
Just got approved and signed the lease so I'm officially moving in about a month and a half! So crazy.
We'll see what happens!

Chelsea.
Went to see Chelsea Handler last night along with Brad Wollack, Heather McDonald, and Josh Wolf. SO effing funny. Bought her book with a little wristband in it and was able to wait in line to meet her and the sidekicks. And get the book signed (: Wish we could've taken pictures but her security team was a little more than uptight. That's alright though, she's gorgeous in person and super nice. And Josh Wolf smiled at me so my life is pretty much complete. As of today at least.
(:
Working today and then I need to pack for Cali. Been saying that since Tuesday but whatever. It has to get done tonight! Now I gotta figure out what is going to fit in my carry on so we don't have to check luggage!

Busy Bee.
It's been forever since I've updated this, I was so good about it for awhile but things have been so busy!
Miss Zoie has been sick, one trip to the "ER" and a stay over night, then a few rounds of vomiting with a trip to the vet for a blood draw. Poor little nugget, she should be fine. More than likely she got into something she shouldn't have! Surprise, surprise!
Started working again on the 7th, Washington Square is a whole different world from Clackamas Nords. That's for sure. Even just cashiering I'm always super busy, which is nice because I don't miss selling as much that way. I do miss the money from selling, though. Definitely not making enough to be super worth the 25 minute drive to work and the hour drive back in traffic every day! But that's okay, I'm hoping to transfer to San Fran and keep saving some moolah.
Speaking of San Fran, mom and I are making a quick trip this Sunday to hopefully find an apartment. Not too many leads so far...and with shady 'ol Craigslist you never know what's real or not. Fingers crossed I find something with at least a clean bathroom and a little more than 300 sq. feet.
Yikes.
KMichelle Photography is officially a registered business and up and running! Had some great appointments this month and still booking for next month! I'm trying to fit in as many people as possible before I leave for San Fran. August is pretty booked with family stuff, along with our 10 day trip to Sunriver. And 4 days after that...I leave for California! Freaky. I feel like there's not enough time to pack. And drive 14 hours. And unpack. Might have a panic attack or two during that whole excursion.
Anywho, going to try and keep up with this thru the summer (:
In the mean time, check out KMichelle Photography!

Babies.
My girls are sleeping away (: Little evening naps for the both of my sweeties. Zoie is the cutest little thing I just can't get over it. And Penny is starting to hate me less now since we brought Zo home. She's cuddling with me as we speak!
My skin started to get a little bit better except now I'm just broken out in the weirdest places! They're like little cuts...so freaking weird. This has never happened! All I have to say is that it's going to be in the 80's this weekend and I must be able to wear a tank top so this crap better be gone! Sick.
Went bowling last night with Nik and her friends. Been awhile since I've stayed out so late! Not to mention I'm so used to getting up early with Zo that I get tired by 10 like a little old lady. But...definitely stayed up til like 3 am and still had to wake up with the pipsqueak 5 hours later. I felt so old today! Had to take a long nap...haha.
What else, what else...
I drew for awhile the other night. Felt good. It's been awhile since I stopped going to school I haven't done much crafting aside from that scholarship. Which, by the way, I should be finding out about soon...next month I think. Crossing my fingers.
Have a photo shoot lined up for Saturday's sunshine with baby Mia and her tutu (: Can't wait! Going out tomorrow to find the perfect location!

Anthro.
After all of that scholarship hoopla I got a little sick of dealing with Anthropologie and thought I had memorized enough the entire spring collection. But today we went to Bridgeport and BOY was I missing out. Huge sale. I didn't even really get to the clothes, mainly because I was holding Zoie and a latte, but all of the kitchen ware and bedding and deco...I was in heaven. If my sister and mom weren't there I probably would've bought the entire store and not felt bad about it. Just inspired me to start thinking about decorating my new apartment! Hopefully we can find something on our little jaunt down to SF at the end of next month.
Zoie's sound asleep next to me after our long day of shopping so I think some googling and oogling, as I like to call it, is in order for the rest of the day! Love having monday holidays, it's like an extra Sunday! Plus the Bachelorette is on tonight (:
