Good Man.

Alright alright. The dreaded "V Day" is over. And all my nasty complaining can stop (:

But first...CALEB BROUGHT ME THE PRETTIEST ROSES. Ha. So sweet, he knows when to step up. First I tell him I hate valentines and then I'm begging him to care about the fake holiday. He tried to surprise me but I hadn't left the house yet like I was supposed to. So I caught him (: And they are so pretty! The classic, cliche, come-in-a-vase-already bright red roses with those little white fluffy things in and around everything. He hates buying red roses. And typically refuses to. But as long as we're celebrating this "day", he went all out. And I loved it. Good Man.

I got in the mood too and wrote a long sappy note in my "Happy F*cking Valentine's Day" card to leave for him with a framed picture of us in his car while he was at work.

So much for not giving in to the "holiday".

(:

And, yes, the card actually said "Happy F*cking Valentine's Day" with a heart in place of the u.

I thought it was fitting.

Perfect.

My Little Muffin Napping Away.

It's Valentine's Day.

...yep!

My least favorite "holiday" because, as stated before, it's not a holiday. Who made it a holiday? Someone just decided that February seemed like a romantic month and that this little naked baby would fly around and shoot people with a bow and arrow? On the 14th? A consumer holiday at it's best. As is Christmas, as of late. Since when was Christmas only about presents? Not that I'm complaining about the presents...

But Valentine's Day? Like I've always said...there shouldn't have to be ONE day a year in the middle of cold and icky February to be set aside purely for telling people you love them and buying sweet gifts of candy and flowers and diamonds. Why can't these things happen more often? Maybe not the diamonds, though it would be nice (: But Caleb buys me flowers regularly and we always take time to make sure we know how much we love each other. That's how a healthy relationship should be, right?

Last year was probably the second year that I really came to this realization. In middle school and high school it was all about candy and store bought "valentines" and decorating my girlfriend's lockers before class and baking pink cupcakes for the entire math class but all that's over now and it's not about handing out folded pieces of heart shaped paper anymore. Call me the grinch of Valentine's Day but it really is silly when you think about it!

With that said...I will admit that this year I am feeling a little more sappy on this silly 14th day of February. Last year we vowed to celebrate "Non Valentine's Day" and it was really fun. We picked a day 2 weeks after the real day and had a nice little night at home. Roses from Caleb. And a little ring was hidden in one of the roses. So we still did the whole gift exchange thing but it was on our own day (: We planned to do the same thing this year with a weekend in Seattle or something but we're still not sure when. But today is THEE day that everyone and their mom's are all over my facebook talking about what sweet things their doing with their beaus and I want to do something! Ha. It's really stupid. And I may be a hypocrite. But hey, it's Valentine's Day. And I can be sappy, and change my mind,  if I want to.

(:

And, no, I absolutely did not go home last night and download tons of love songs like Alicia Keys' Never See Me Again... (:
