The man set up a double date for tonight at Henry's, my ex-favorite restaurant. I still like the place, the atmosphere is good and we know practically half the staff since we went there almost every Friday of every week for almost 6 months. But they changed their menu, yet again, and deleted my MOST favorite item, which also happened to be the ONLY thing I ever ordered, ever. Seriously?! I remember it like it was yesterday...we were craving some good dinner, well, I probably was craving some good dinner, and of course the clear choice was good 'ol Henry's. But we sit down to a brand new, bar style, Old Chicago-esque PLASTIC menu. What?! I hesitate to open it knowing, just knowing, they probably took off the only meal I enjoy at their humble little restaurant. This always happens to me at every restaurant I start to love. Anywho, I was right. They freakin' got rid of it. I texted our good friend, Ryan, who was working the bar that night, and begged him to make it happen for me but NO they didn't even carry the ingredients any more to craft my chicken breast smothered in Spanish Madeira sauce with mushrooms and buttery mashed potatoes and long, crispy green beens. Psh. Mac and Cheese it was, then. I vowed never to return there again, with the exception of Nina's 21st birthday a month later (:
Anyway, we're dining with Steph and Stephen tonight and, even though I can't order my fave, it will still be fun! Steph's always a blast to chat with and they're such a cute little couple. Should be nice to get out and do something fun this weekend! Oh, and tomorrow we're going to the Portland State basketball game. Fun!
Bummed around excessively all day today. Returned my over-due Comcast modem, woops, got a coffee, called Nordies about my application, e-mailed a few people about my paintings and school stuff, sold some clothes I didn't need, went to Powell's. You know, the usual.
Now I'm gonna get ready for the shindig and head over to Caleb's!
